The Foundation is please to provide workshops and courses about best practice resources for nonprofits in the community. Our goal is to provide training for nonprofit professionals so they can better respond to needs and issues within their organization. We value our nonprofits and providing capacity building to nonprofits so they enhance our communities.
Workshops at The Foundation
The San Diego Foundation offers a series of introductory workshops on fundraising basics, grant research, and proposal writing to foundations and government agencies. Please reserve your space as early as possible as attendance at each workshop is limited.

Certificate in Fund Raising Management at The San Diego Foundation
The San Diego Foundation is proud to partner with The Fund Raising School at The Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University to provide the Certificate in Fund Raising Management. The Foundation values investing in our local nonprofits and local nonprofit staff. We share the goal of promoting the highest standards of professionalism in fundraising and philanthropic studies through capacity building. Generous donors of The San Diego Foundation provide a general grant which subsidizes the cost of obtaining the certificate to all attendees accepted.
The Fund Raising School teaches the courses annually in San Diego at The Foundation.
The certificate includes a series of four courses: Principles and Techniques of Fundraising, Interpersonal Communication, Planned Gifts: Getting the Proper Start, and Developing Major Gifts. To be added to the interest list or for more information, please contact Danielle Valenciano
