Title

It is our pledge to San Diego to improve the quality of life within all of our communities by leveraging local leadership in building endowments, increasing responsible and effective philanthropy, and promoting local and regional dialogue and action.

Since 2004, The San Diego Foundation has established affiliates in Carlsbad, Chula Vista, Escondido, La Jolla, Oceanside, Ramona, Rancho Bernardo and 4S Ranch~Del Sur, and continues to help support our sister affiliate The San Diego Women’s Foundation. In that time, more than 650 people have become members. Together they have built an endowment of more than $4 million and granted out more than $2.7 million to regional causes.

WHY A COMMUNITY FOUNDATION?
When a passionate group of people comes together to establish a community foundation through The San Diego Foundation, they do more than create a way to promote philanthropy. They create a promise for their neighbors, their friends, and their children.
They promise new sources of permanent income…
…By their community
…For use in their community
…Toward the unique, critical needs of their community
