Nonprofit Resource Center

Nonprofit Resource CenterThe Nonprofit Resource Center is available to San Diego nonprofits, students, and individuals. We focus on providing resources and for nonprofits about the essentials of nonprofit management.

A satellite of The Foundation Center, the Nonprofit Resource Center (NRC) is an information hub offering research services, publications, and workshops. NRC is designed to help nonprofits seeking to further their understanding of the world of philanthropy.

Our library collection covers subjects of interest to the nonprofit sector, including capacity building, management, governance, and fundraising. Databases to search for grant makers with opportunities for grants to individuals and nonprofits are available. The Foundation has dedicated part-time staff available to assist visitors.

Organizations looking for grants can take advantage of databases, periodicals, and publications such as:

  • Foundation Directory Online (FDO) with more than 90,000 foundations and associated grants
  • The Foundation Center's National Guide Directories, profiling foundations by broad field of interest
  • Guides to proposal writing, grant-seeking, and winning proposals
Individuals seeking scholarships, research grants, and funding for other limited opportunities will find the following resources particularly useful:
  • Foundation Grants to Individuals, an online database of over 6,000 funding sources in education, research, arts and culture, and special needs
  • Directories profiling scholarship and fellowship prospects
