GranteesThe Foundation is pleased to partner with a large and diverse group of outstanding nonprofit organizations that provide quality services in their specific field or geographical area.

The Foundation conducts a competitive and careful application process in a partnership with staff members and a strong network of volunteers who are experts in their subject areas.

Grants are determined and distributed with the utmost attention to detail and taking into account the potential for greatest impact. 

 

 

 

Rising Arts Leaders San Diego

Spring 2012

Rising Arts Leaders (RAL) is designed to help emerging arts and culture administrators maintain and improve their professional competence, enhance their career progression and keep abreast of new developments in the field. RAL Quick Grants provide financial incentives to nonprofit arts and culture organizations to invest in the professional development of their workforce which will enable their institutions to grow and thrive and encourage their employees to gain knowledge and skills for sustainable and successful careers in the arts and culture.

RAL is a program of The San Diego Foundation produced in partnership with the City of San Diego Commission for Arts and Culture and supported by generous grants from The James Irvine Foundation and The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation.

Cygnet Theatre – HeART of Old Town Project

Cygnet Theatre’s “HeART of Old Town” project seeks to revive the vibrancy of Old Town as an arts and culture destination by providing more innovative arts and cultural opportunities in Old Town to the broader San Diego community.

The Escondido History Center – Saturdays in the Park Project

The Escondido History Center’s “Saturdays in the Park” project seeks to transform Grape Day Park from a space that many perceive as unsafe into the vibrant, creative, playful heart of Escondido that brings art to the people and in the process deepens residents’ connections to art, culture, recreation and community.

The Old Globe Theatre – Southeastern San Diego Residency Project

The Old Globe Theatre’s “Southeastern San Diego Residency Project” creates a bridge between the theatre and the communities surrounding The Old Globe Technical Center through programming that engages residents in many aspects of the theatre, including play development, mainstage productions, workshops and community programs and technical theatre training.

Playwrights Project – Telling Stories Project

The Playwrights Project “Telling Stories” project empowers individuals involved in foster care to tell their stories through theatre to inspire the community to work to improve conditions for current and former foster youth.
